Windows only. This app runs through the Scryboard App Runner, a free desktop program that's only available for Windows right now. It won't run on a Mac or Linux computer.

What makes this different

Bridges your Kanka.io world bible and Scryboard: your Kanka entities are imported into the World Bible automatically (tagged "from kanka", matched against what your sessions already established), a browsable codex widget, a live drift report, and a Sync to Kanka button that pushes your confirmed canon back to Kanka within seconds of a click. Needs a DM install — it works with your full World Bible, not just the player-visible layer.

What this app can access

Reads basic campaign info, verified and proposed campaign canon, clicks on buttons it shows in its own widgets.

Writes dashboard widget output, items imported into your World Bible as confirmed canon, tagged with their source (matched against existing canon; items you recorded yourself are never overwritten, imported items are updated when their source changes).

Does not read the live session transcript.
Does not read the campaign member roster.
Does not write to player character sheets.

Requires your own API keys

Kanka personal API token — Create one at kanka.io under Settings → API → Create New Token. This app only ever uses it to read your campaign and to create/update entities when YOU click Sync to Kanka.
Kanka campaign ID — The number in your Kanka campaign's URL, e.g. app.kanka.io/w/123456 → 123456.

You'll need to provide these yourself when you install — the App Runner asks for them once and stores them securely on your computer. Any usage costs from that service are between you and its provider; Scryboard is not involved and does not see the cost.

Setup

1. Install this app as the campaign's DM (it needs a DM install) and add it to the Scryboard App Runner, version 0.2.1 or later. Older Runners still show the codex and the Sync button, but can't import into your World Bible automatically. 2. When the Runner asks, paste your Kanka personal API token (in Kanka: your account Settings → API → Personal Access Tokens) and your Kanka campaign ID (the number after /w/ in your campaign's Kanka address, e.g. app.kanka.io/w/123456 → 123456). Kanka tokens expire after one year: when yours does, the app's widget turns red and tells you, and you paste a new token into the Runner. 3. Open your campaign's DM page. The "Kanka Codex" and "Kanka Sync & Drift" cards appear within a minute, and your Kanka entities start arriving in your World Bible, tagged "from kanka". Good to know: nothing goes to Kanka until you click "Sync to Kanka". When you do, the titles and descriptions of your confirmed World Bible items are sent to kanka.io and created there as private entities. Entities you've edited or deleted in Kanka are left alone.
